The "Zibby Payne" series follows the adventures of a feisty sixth-grade tomboy with a larger-than-life personality. Zibby is a positive character for young girls because she stays true to herself, is determined to solve problems, and also learns from her mistakes. The series puts a light-hearted spin on themes such as individuality, nonconformity, gender, popularity, and adolescence. Comical story lines, short chapters, and high interest plots make the series perfect for reluctant readers.
In Zibby Payne & the Drama Trauma, the second book in the series, the whole sixth grade class is excited about the school play – except for Total Tomboy Zibby, who thinks acting is utterly boring. But when she learns that the main character in the play is a soccer star, just like her, she decides that playing a famous athlete and having tons of adoring fans would be More Than Okay!
After she gets the part, she realizes her character has to kiss a boy. Even worse, the boy is her soccer buddy ... and he may actually like her. That way. Can Zibby avoid smooching on stage without letting down her cast members, or will she wreck the entire sixth grade musical?

“The issues of friends and enemies are timeless, and even readers new to the "Zibby Payne"series will slip smoothly into the candid, funny, nonpreachy account of how a tough kid betrays the best in herself and then battles to put things right.
